The Belgian Stroke Council, together with the patient organization Stroke, launches a nationwide campaign to promote stroke awareness. The main goal is to teach the public to recognize the symptoms of stroke and to promote rapid action. Every minute counts when stroke strikes. Treatment can be initiated when patients arrive in the hospital very rapidly. Treatment is most beneficial when given within the first minutes after stroke.
